Title: Lead DME Clerk Location: Los Angeles, CA Under general supervision of the Department Manager / Asst. Dept. Manager, provides functional direction to the DME/P&O staff, ensures the department workload is divided equally. Adjust assignments as indicated. Performs instruction, education & mentoring of staff w/ new processes & systems. Coordinates work flows & assigns priorities to assure that daily task & job assignments are completed within established time frames. May review completed work for accuracy & conformance to department procedures. Assures adherence to department policies & procedures. May suggest procedural changes. Establishes & maintains courteous, cooperative relations when interfacing w/ other personnel, Health Plan members & vendors. Participates in vendor oversight regarding quality of service & billing processes. Lead DME Clerk also performs the representative duties of DME Clerk. Gives feed back & consults w/ Department Managers as needed. Performs other duties & responsibilities as required. Essential Functions: - Provides functional direction to the DME/P & O staff - Ensures workload is divided equally - Adjusts assignments - Instructs, educates and mentors staff with new processes and systems - Ensures staff compliance with Regulatory Requirements - Review work for accuracy to ensure DME Clerks are conforming to departmental policy - Coordinates workflows and assigns priorities to ensure work is completed in a timely manner - Establishes and maintains courteous, cooperative relations when interfacing with other personnel, Health Plan members and vendors - Performs excellent service skills and other related departmental duties according to established policies and procedures in the following areas - Maintains excellent Customer Service relations and consistent professionalism when communicating to members, providers, ancillary support, vendors, etc., about DME information and services - Duties may also include problem resolution, customer follow-up, and appropriate escalation to administration as required - Participates in vendor oversight - The actual depth of responsibility for the clerk varies at different medical centers - The supervision of the clerks is also a variable in each department - Upholds Kaiser Permanente''s Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities and applicable state, federal and local laws Qualifications: Pay Grade: 14 Basic Qualifications: - Previous two (2) years of experience as DME Clerk - HMO Experience - High School Diploma - Medical Terminology certification - 25 wpm, Typing score must be current withinone (1) year. Please contact Human Resources for testing. - DME or Home Health - Knowledge of Regulatory Regulations (CMS, Medi-Cal, JCAHO, NCQA, DMHC) - Knowledge of DME guidelines, care management and regulatory requirements - Excellent verbal and written skills, preferred - Good interpersonal relationship building skills, preferred Notes: - Rotating days and hours: Monday -Sunday - 830am to 5pm, 930am to 6pm or 1130am to 8pm
