ACCOUNT MANAGER

The Account Manager is responsible for maintaining a relationship with the Clients. The Account Manager monitors insurance, recommends appropriate coverage, places coverage, and has a thorough knowledge of Personal Lines and Commercial insurance products. The Account manager secures the renewal of existing business. May identify, solicit, and develop new pieces of business with existing Clients. Identify account rounding and cross selling opportunities. Responsible for documentation, record keeping, and quality and completion of service provided to Clients. The Account Manager works with the Producer to design individual Client / Prospect risk management programs. Maintain relationship with insurance companies.








ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Duties which must be performed by anyone in this position)

Prospect for new business from existing Clients and identified target groups.

Respond to Client questions and concerns.

Collect detailed risk and underwriting information including survey data and loss history.

Develop and deliver formal proposals of insurance including details of coverages, limits, deductibles and other pertinent information.

Work with service person to complete company submissions and selection of potential markets.

Conduct Client and prospect appointments communicating proposals and renewals, explaining details and communicating desire to conduct business.

Stay informed of all claims or service issues and become involved in resolution when required.

Participate in renewals by reviewing expiration listing with service person to determine appropriate action and collection of information to prepare renewal submissions.

Promote Company and insurance industry in the community.

Keep informed of industry developments through review of trade press and by attending insurance carrier training meetings on new products, etc.

Perform other specific duties and projects as assigned by Vice President.

Compliance with AFW and V Drive filing procedures.

MISCELLANEOUS FUNCTIONS
A. Attend all required meetings, internal and external.
B. Provide overflow support to marketing and handle assigned projects as needed.
C. Continue professional education.
D. Develop relationships with key carriers.
E. Work as an integral part of the Client?s service team.
F. Develop and maintain effective and professional working relationships with all Clients Services employees.
G. Maintain current Illinois Property and Casualty Producer?s license.




Requirements:

5 to 10 years of commercial insurance expereince with at least 2 years of account management within a brokerage or agency. Degree preferred with CPCU a big plus.
