CHIEF UNDERWRITING OFFICER Peoples Trust Insurance Company (PTIC), a Florida homeowners carrier located in Boca Raton, FL, currently has an opportunity for an experienced Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) to be a valued member of the senior management team for our rapidly growing organization. This position reports to the President and requires a seasoned company underwriting professional with current Florida personal lines homeowner?s knowledge and experience.
The CUO is accountable for developing, monitoring, and enhancing the organization?s underwriting and risk management philosophies and procedures according to the needs of the company and the market conditions. In addition, the position is responsible for the talent management (selection, training & development, retention, and motivation) of the underwriting staff. The candidate must be able to both set the strategic direction as well as work ?hands-on? with the management team and staff to achieve results.

Requirements:
Successful candidates will possess the following: ? REQUIRED: Current personal lines homeowners company experience; ? Minimum of ten years of progressive insurance industry underwriting experience and seven years of proven experience managing insurance company staff and operations; ? Minimum of ten years executive management experience; ? Demonstrated ability to create and maintain controlled processes to ensure compliance with state regulations and meet business objectives in terms of profitability and growth; ? Flexible and able to multi-task in order to achieve required underwriting results ; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems; ? Bachelor?s degree in business, management, finance, or a related area; ? CPCU preferred; Associate in Underwriting, Associate in Risk Management or other equivalent designation accepted; ? Ability to generate respect and trust from staff and external constituencies; ? Excellent interpersonal, communications, and presentation skills. ? Personal qualities of integrity and credibility.
