Job Description
Position Summary: Direct responsibility for a book of key renewals, agency management, and significant new business production from key agents. Primary focus is on driving commercial lines middle market new business with key commercial lines agents in their territory. Focus goals for the role include retention, new money, new business production, profit and growth.
Allocation of Time/Week:
- Business cultivation in agent's office 50%
- Underwriting and quoting of new business 30%
- Underwriting, pricing, negotiation of key renewals 20%
Key Job Duties:
- Works with key commercial agents to identify and write new commercial lines middle market accounts.
- Oversees a book of business, including load balancing, planning and portfolio management.
- Manages the implementation of the business plan and achievement of focus goals.
Key Accountabilities and Deliverables (Measures):
- Written Premium growth
- Retention Rate
- Loss Ratio
- Individual new business production
Position Requirements
- Minimum 5 plus years multi line commercial underwriting experience required.
- Demonstrated ability to develop strategic, productive agency relationships
- Sales/production orientation
- Bachelors Degree preferred
- Professional designations such as CPCU, CIC, etc. are a plus
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to learn internal Customer & Agency Account Management systems.
