The Commercial Property Loss Adjuster's role is much like a project manager. The objective is to efficiently move through the adjustment process to help the customer resume their normal operations following a loss to their property.
As an adjuster, you will work closely with the policyholder to understand their business and the financial impact a loss may have on it. Some losses require extensive investigations to determine the origin and/or cause. The Commercial Property loss adjuster coordinates developing a scope and estimate. This is accomplished through the use of suitable consultants, to fully understand the physical damage, be it structural or cosmetic, from which a detailed scope and a projected repair cost is created based on proper means & methods of accomplishing repairs. The adjuster achieves agreements with the insurance customer based on the obligations of the insurance policy.
Responsibilities: Some key task items or traits: * Assesses damage to commercial buildings of a wide type and variety * Coordinates the investigation into cause of loss * Hires & manages consultants in various fields of engineering for determining appropriate repair means & methods and cost projections * Serves the customer: explains the claim processes, acquires documentation * Handles settlement, negotiation and issue resolution * Likes wide range of diversity in work, venue, and interacts with a variety of people * Manages an inventory of assigned claims Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent * Strong mechanical aptitude * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Ability to provide information in a clear, concise manner with an appropriate level of detail, empathy and professionalism * Ability to build and maintain effective relationships * Must be highly self-motivated; analytical decision-maker; problem solver; * Ability to handle stressful sitsuations * Effective analytical skills to gather information, analyze facts, and draw conclusions * Negotiation skills. * Employees are required to obtain a property / casualty license in some states which is paid by the company Benefits: We recognize that talented people are attracted to companies that provide competitive pay, comprehensive benefits packages and outstanding advancement opportunities.
