Responsibilities:
Perform all activities related to a Consultant Engineer position. The complexity of the job increases based on the engineer's experience and level. Entry level is as follows:
1. With appropriate guidance and supervision, conduct basic on site loss prevention evaluations that identify all reasonably foreseeable physical and human element exposures for F&EC, B&M and DIC perils.
2. With appropriate guidance and supervision, accurately quantify exposures at customer locations to assure that the Account Team places an appropriate level of attention on the exposure.
-Quantification should include analysis of the damage to physical property (building, contents) and the impact to the business (BI, TE, Interdependencies).
3. Assure the operational functionality of protective equipment at low complexity customer locations in order to maximize the opportunity for loss mitigation.
-The CEI should take appropriate steps, in accordance with established policies, to assure that protective equipment, whether sparse or complete, is operational.
-Confirm that in-house procedures are established to ensure that the protection systems are maintained at all times.
4. With appropriate guidance and supervision, obtain local customer understanding and agreement on the hazards/exposures discovered and their potential business impact.
-The CEI should aim to move the customer along the consulting continuum as far as possible. The initial step is to achieve understanding and then agreement to resolve.
-The CEI should consult with the highest level of management located at the customer site.
5. Assist with effectively managing change at customer locations, with appropriate guidance and supervision.
-Changes which occur at customer locations frequently result in new hazards or exposures. These can be physical changes (new construction, new packaging, new equipment, etc?) or human element changes (new key personnel, downsizing, etc?). The CEI should identify upcoming changes in order to prevent associated exposures.
-Provide timely, high quality plan review services for low complexity changes in order to ensure that proper loss prevention considerations are achieved at the design stage.
6. Achieve practical, effective on-site risk improvement at customer locations.
-Work with local customers to achieve risk improvement that is within their control, such as human element/maintenance programs and low/moderate cost physical improvements.
-For high capital improvements, seeks guidance on aligning with account engineering to develop a plan for completing target recommendations.
7. Begin developing ability to Illustrate the value-added differential of FM Global engineering capabilities.
-The capabilities of FM Global engineering should be communicated when the customer does not understand them.
-FM Global resources such as publications, loss history data, videos, etc. should be used to support findings and recommended improvements. This includes the Understanding the Hazards tools.
-With guidance, and in conjunction with account engineering, innovative methods to educate the customer on loss prevention should be pursued where appropriate.
8. Accurately communicate the risk and associated data.
-Accurately communicate the picture of the risk in the Risk Report (RR) so that the Account Team can make appropriate decisions. Personal judgments or opinions should be presented under the confidential section of the RR to elaborate on the quality of risk.
-Communicate issues of major importance, sensitivity or consequence to the Account Engineer, in advance of the RR, so that immediate attention can be given to the issue.
-The data provided must be of high quality to assure the integrity of engineering products.

Qualifications:
-Strong English and Portuguese oral and written communication skills.
-Good listening skills.
-Basic negotiation and "sales" skills.
-Proficient in the use of computers.
-Solid technical aptitude including a diverse knowledge of engineering principals.
-Strong analytical thinker with logical application.
-Decisive problem solver.
-Efficient time management ability with minimal supervision.
Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Chemical)
