We are seeking anExecutive Director of Middle Market.
Prime Responsibilities:
* Manage the Practice to ensure that a high degree of quality customer service is provided to all clients at all times. * Contribute towards the Company's profit objectives through the effective management and attainment of Practice revenue and expense budgets. * Drive the strategic direction of the Middle Market Practice by providing clear and effective communication, leadership, engagement of employees and developing a short, medium and long term vision. * Manage the achievement of the Practice's operational and strategic business plans and objectives in line with Marsh NZ plans and objectives * To be a key member of the NZ Leadership team.
Accountabilities
1. Strategic Leadership and Management
* Drive the strategic vision of the Middle Market Practice, through the preparation, management, implementation and achievement of the Practice's business plans and goals; * Lead, plan and implement clear and effective renewal and broking strategies, ensuring renewal performance exceeds set targets; * Engender a positive and tenacious client retention and development focus amongst all individuals by encouraging regular communication of client status and promptly addressing current retention issues; * Drive and champion change throughout the Practice, to deliver continuous improvement and competitive advantage in the Middle Market; * Develop a sales and growth culture within the Practice, by leading the organisation and implementing sales disciplines in conjunction with training to ensure growth targets are achieved * Drive people management disciplines in accordance with the Company's programs and develop employees skills through on the job training, regular performance feedback, external competency based training and career feedback; * Maximise the Practice's utilisation of the Company's national and global resources by maintaining and communicating to employees the facilities and capabilities available through the Company; * Responsible for the strategic direction of the Middle Market Practice at a national level; * A member of the senior leadership team for New Zealand and contribute to the overall strategy of the business; * Develop best practice across the Middle Market Practice and also implement these consistently throughout New Zealand as appropriate; * Work collegially with the leadership team, to develop consistent professional client services across New Zealand; * Identify talent within your Practice and maximise the potential of individuals including the development of a succession plan. * Identify new products and service offerings within you own market in conjunction with MM Agency 2. Financial Performance
* Ensure the Practice meets and exceeds service standards agreed in client service agreements; * Manage all expenses to maintain close control of expenditure by remaining intimately aware of costs against budget. * Ensure the Practice consistently meets and exceeds its revenue, expense and trading profit budgets; * Maximise Practice and account profitability through the implementation of efficient and effective work practices, adequate client billing and sensible expense control;
3. Client/Industry relations
* Develop and maintain meaningful working relationships with insurers at the most senior level to ensure delivery of competitive products and services to practice's clients; * Frequently monitor environmental, leadership and other changes within client industries to preserve and protect the Company's relationship at all times; * Ensure all individuals possess and apply a thorough understanding of the client's business, risk management and insurance needs to ensure that our services and programs continue to meet with their needs and expectations; * Undertake the role of relationship management with key clients and sponsor bodies * Act as a Senior representative of the Company at industry functions, meetings or events;
4. Compliance & Technical
* Adhere strictly to and ensure that all employees adhere strictly to the Company's Quality practices and other systems and procedures; * Possess and apply a thorough understanding of all major classes of insurance which the Company offers to its clients and keep abreast of all new technical and product developments through attendance at company and industry training events; * Possess and apply a thorough working knowledge of all aspects of the Insurance (Agents & Brokers) Act, Insurance Contracts Act, Fire Services Levy, Stamp Duties, Worker's Compensation, GST, key Trade Practices Act provisions and other relevant legislation and keep abreast of all new developments; * Personally comply with the Company's Errors and Omissions avoidance procedures and ensure that no Errors and Omissions occur within the Practice; * Other duties as may be required from time to time.
Revenue Generation
* Recognise and capitalise upon revenue generation, growth and other opportunities * Actively develop additional business from existing Practice portfolios in line with budget targets; * Develop new business opportunities from existing portfolios and other sources; * Provide unconditional support for all Company sponsored revenue generation initiatives and ensure new initiatives are implemented within the practice.
Experience
* Diploma Financial Services ( General insurance) or ( Insurance Broking) * Senior Associate of ANZIIF * Degree preferred; * 10 years insurance industry experience * QPIB status
