Key Responsibilities * Gain advanced knowledge of company products and services. * Inspect losses, and interpret and explain policy coverage. * Document claims transactions, and prepare and forward reports. * Obtain reports, appraisals and statements from witnesses. * Prepare estimates after documenting damages/losses. * Collect data and information by conferring with and interviewing persons associated in any way with the case, and secure written statements and copies of policy as claim records. * Going into undesirable neighborhoods, vacant/foreclosed homes. Responds to catastrophes and other temporary assignments that may be outside of their territory - such assignments may be made with short notice and last for an indefinite period. A significant portion of these duties will be performed outside of the office. For information regarding Field Staff Adjuster opportunities, please visit />Required skills / experience * Adjuster's license is required and must be maintained. * 2-3 years of property claims adjusting experience. * Ability to write residential and mobile home repair estimates. * Advanced problem solving skills; excellent communication and basic negotiation skills. * PC literate with functional skills in word-processing software applications and residential estimating systems. * Responds to catastrophes and other temporary assignments that may be outside of their territory - such assignments may be made with short notice and last for an indefinite period. * Acceptable credit and good driving record required. * Higher level will be considered commensurate on experience.
