Financial Representative
As a Financial Representative with Guardian, you will work with centers of influence in your local agency’s community, such as attorneys, CPAs and bankers, to become known in your target market as a sound financial resource. Guardian believes in protection first, and you will use a consultative sales approach to help your clients build solid financial platforms before you help them grow their wealth. You will act as an advocate for your clients, form strong relationships with them and handle the ten to fifteen transactions that typically occur in a client’s lifetime. You are also not required to sell Guardian products only, it is more important that you sell the concept of long-term care insurance, life insurance and other products as protection for clients.
Additional responsibilities of the Financial Representative include:
Visiting with three to four clients per day in one-on-one in consultative sales appointments that incorporate The Living Balance Sheet®
Following up with clients to deliver policies once the underwriting process is complete and to ensure that their needs have been met
Working with other Financial Insurance Agents and marketing staff on marketing initiatives and strategies
Attending client-related events, expos and association meetings to build your presence in your targeted market
Hosting educational seminars about Guardian insurance and services for community members in your territory
Watching over clients’ interests, monitoring performance and making adjustments to adapt to changing markets and evolving needs

As a Financial Representative with Guardian, you must possess an entrepreneurial spirit and an affinity for education and professional advancement. You must have the highest level of integrity, the desire to help others achieve financial security and the desire for a viable work-life balance. You must possess excellent presentation and public speaking skills and superb interpersonal communication and social skills. You must be self-disciplined, persistent, family-oriented and ethical. You must also have strong multi-tasking skills, a pattern of professional and academic success and confidence in yourself and our products.
Additional requirements for the Financial Representative include:
Bachelor’s degree required, concentration in Sales or Marketing a plus
Minimum 2 years work experience required, 5 years preferred
Valid license to sell life and/or health insurance, must get Series 6, 7 and 63 within 2 years of hire
Computer literacy and Microsoft Office proficiency
Ability to develop trusting relationships with a wide variety of people
Ability to work well with a team and independently
Ability to recognize networking and sales opportunities and to close sales
Experience in Sales, Marketing, Education and/or Real Estate preferred
