This position is available for December 2011 or May 2012 college graduates. This position is full time.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: The Crop Insurance Services Associate position is a 12-18 month program designed for recent college graduates. The Associate works through a Syllabus consisting of intensive modules, in insurance sales and services. After completing 12-18 months of the program, the Associate should be well positioned to take a regular position in Insurance within the organization.
In the insurance services modules, the Associate serves AgStar's internal and external clients by providing support to other team members and completing more complex data entry for all crop insurance companies, printing and mailing documents to clients and tracking and reporting underwriting concerns to the sales team. Associate researches and answers complex questions from team members regarding insurance products. Compiles information and prepare reports for presentation to management.
In the insurance sales modules, the Associate's primary responsibility is providing crop insurance services to clients and building strong relationships with these clients. The Associate works to combine his/her agricultural and business knowledge with an understanding of each client's farming operation in order to provide solutions to meet clients' risk management needs.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a bachelor's degree in agricultural economics, Ag business or equivalent ag or business related degree. Experience in agribusiness/farming industry, agricultural credit or closely related field preferred. Ability to make sound judgments is required. Solid organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem solving, analytical, negotiating, and influencing skills are required. The incumbent must demonstrate effective team building and processing skills. The associate position requires solid computer skills and experience with a wide variety of computer applications. This is the entry level insurance position for the organization.
