Job duties include but are not limited to the following:
* Reviews and approves all formulary administrative actions submitted by the PBM for assigned formulary
* Identifies new drugs/classes to be included in NDC lock out list, ensuring all formulary additions and deletions are completed as defined by internal policies
* Researches new drugs to market, makes recommendations as to their designation and recommends UM programs
* Researches, develops and revises medical coverage guidelines; presents for approval, prepares and submits communications; responds to inquiries; performs audits, updates, etc. as required
* Researches and synthesizes detailed clinical data related to pharmaceuticals
* Collaborates with internal compliance area and PBM's clinical review area to ensure all procedures are compliant with all applicable regulations
* Coordinates member and provider notifications for drug withdrawals, member brand to generic and other pharmacy messaging campaigns
* Serves as pharmacy SME/representative on projects; supports internal business partners such as product development, care and case managers, special investigations, and medical operations
* Provides internal professional staff and external provider education related to pharmaceuticals and program interventions
* Leads, manages and/or supports medical cost management, utilization management and medication management initiatives
* Facilitates the implementation and adoption of new products, programs and services
* Supports the increased utilization of existing programs reports estimated financial savings
* Works with internal business partners on savings estimates and actuarial validation
* Ensures applicable data is available for trending and reporting; identifies new opportunities for medication management and medical cost savings
Job Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree
* Must currently hold an active Florida licensure, or ability to obtain within the first nine months of employment
* 5 or more years of healthcare experience, including 2 or more years working in a managed care environment
* Experience with credentialing, claims payment, fee schedules, etc.
* 3 or more years project leadership experience managing multiple concurrent large projects, including their communication and planning
Business Specific Criteria (preferred skills):
* Advanced degree in a related field
* Experience working directly with Pharmacy operations
* Experience working on Specialty Pharmacy initiatives
* Experience with Specialty Pharmacy industry, including legislative issues and competitor initiatives
* Experience managing projects within defined budget
