The principle challenge of this senior leadership position is to comprehensively manage all customer related activities, both tactical and strategic, consistent with the established business objectives, cost effectively.  This position is accountable to determine an overall sales vision and strategy, communication of same, while implementing and directing required resources to accomplish designated goals.  Reporting to this position presently are Sales, Customer Service, Promotion Graphics, Master Production Planning, Transportation and General Administration.


 


As a senior leader of the business, this position is expected to create an environment of credibility and trust, supporting all of our company’s business values.  In addition, it is expected that this position serves a teaching role model, developing employees in a manner to foster  individual and company growth.   


 


As a Sales and Service oriented business, this leadership position is vital to our overall financial performance and ability to survive.  Critical to our long term growth is the ability to innovate, produce and deliver new products.  In conjunction with the Marketing Department, this position is also accountable for actions ranging from  issue or opportunity discovery through product delivery.  Actions include, but are not limited to, meeting existing and future customer requirements, defining the strategic direction of each market through customer interface, co-developing strategic business plans, profit attainment through contract negotiations, servicing customers and selling application technology 


 


Together with other North America Lead Team members, this role is jointly responsible for integration of all functional departments to ensure that all customer interfaces are seamless.  Critical to this end is the identification of common responsibilities, clear role definition and the elimination of any redundancies.  


 


Produce and communicate a comprehensive sales strategy and implementation plan that supports financial needs of the NA Region and the long term commercial strategy of the company’s business as a whole.



Requirements:

Internal resolution of issues contrary to performance execution.


Approve major customer expenses and claims within limits.


Resolve difficult situations with customers.


Focal point for Business Plan execution issues and integration of Customer Support process with other business processes.


Oversee coordination of tasks with other parts of the organization (e.g. unadjusted items, taxes, commissions, etc.)


Key participant in building and guiding our company culture.


Allocates and provides customer support resources required for projects outside the Sales organization (e.g. product development teams).


Developing compatible customer relationships at the executive level.


Delivery of Revenue/Sales plan for profitability and growth.


Liaison on Customer Support business process and organization.


Accountable for development and execution of the business plan.


Resolves major customer issues requiring escalation and/or senior management involvement.


Manages all commercial related activities within prescribed budget.


Provides strategic support with customer or market information gathering and clarification.


Writes commercial contracts consistent with business goals and marketing initiatives.


Supports pricing objectives and policies established by Marketing.


Provide full commercial functions in the area of sales.


Determine areas of growth with existing and potential customers.


Provide commercial targets for new technology applications.


Provide commercial vision consistent with manufacturing capability.


Provide forecasts for successful planning and execution.


Provide assistance for capacity management and growth.


Assist in maintaining optimum inventory levels where applicable.


Provide understanding of current and future customer expectations.


Provide vision and guidance on increasing the financial value (conversion revenue) of transportation  services.


 


 


Responsible for the Customer Support Center and all customer support personnel including Inside sales, pricing administration, master production planning and transportation departments.


 


Education requirements: BA in Business, Marketing or Engineering.


 


 


Minimum of 15 years of related experience. (e.g. account management, people management, customer/commercial interface, marketing management, self-directed work teams, strategic planning/business plan execution, an acute understanding of financial activity, production planning and transportation management).


 


 


Skills Requirements:  This individual needs to be very customer oriented -  both internal and external customers.  They must possess expert business knowledge and an in depth understanding of how a business is managed.  This role requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, an ability to listen, as well as interpersonal skills.  The incumbent must be an experienced negotiator and be willing and capable of gauging and taking risk.  This position requires an ability and willingness to make tough decisions and provide strong leadership under all circumstances.  This individual must have credibility throughout the organization and with our customers to be effective long term
