Job Information:
Overview:
To manage the production and selection of profitable Fine Art business within assigned geographical territory in accordance with Company objectives and policies. This position will support the attainment of profitability/production goals. Maintenance of Underwriting standards and potentially supervision and education of staff.

Responsibilities:
1. Design and file with all states a competitive policy form, and file rates with all states.
2. Produces an underwriting profit by controlling, risk acceptance, improvement, declination and cancellation of all Fine Art. Underwrites Fine Art policies of any complexity. Adherence to CURE process.
3. Develops new sources of Fine Art production in assigned territory through contact with producers, industry groups and conferences. Improves agency/producer understanding of Great American underwriting guidelines. (This includes all aspects of agency appointment and maintenance.)
4. Assists agents/producers in the use of company processing/accounting systems. Work with underwriters and producers in other GAIC divisions to maximize production efforts and develop a broader base of support among our producers.
5. Makes recommendations on agency/broker appointment.
6. Develops and maintains understanding of company systems and systems capabilities. Enters, maintains, and monitors accounts using company analysis system and operating logs. .
7. Meets or exceeds service standards in the areas of new business, renewals and endorsements and adherence to
response and service standards of division.
8. Exercises appropriate control over expenses such as commissions, and travel and entertainment.
9. Prepares and monitors annual budget plans, providing monthly and quarterly reports on production and underwriting efforts and results.

Qualifications:
Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree (preferably in Art) or equivalent business/work experience. A minimum of ten years of experience is preferred. Primary experience must be in Fine Art or a broker with experience in this line of business. Varied other business experience involving production efforts, personnel management, business presentations, and responsibilities for office/departmental financial, budgetary and management operations.
Thorough knowledge of underwriting standards for Fine Art business.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Individual must be motivated, people oriented, outgoing, and confidently aggressive in approach to building and maintaining a book of business.
