The Service Associate (SA) will provide technical and administrative support for the Account Specialist/Account Consultant/National Account Manger team and ensures that the day to day support functions are completed. Job accountabilities may vary depending upon supported individuals' requirements, but will be administrative in nature. The Service Associate will be expected to support other administrative and service needs such as partnering with the primary service representative and home office partners to support customer and broker requests and inquiries, to ensure timely and accurate customer deliverables.

This position may be combined with other administrative positions.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
* Supports the service team on the new business and inforce business processes.
* Complete and submit booklet requests, provide case status, contract changes, terminations, claim trend analysis request forms, and other Home Office submittals on a timely basis
* Assist in calculation, submit and route changes financial or non-financial on current block of business
* Submit contract changes through Policy Change systems
* Track and follow up on case status and amendments with appropriate Home Office areas on a timely basis.
* Prepare/request renewal information for presentation to customers
* Track and follow up on employee level information on new cases or re-enrollments
* Complete Administrative Guides for customers
* Prepare mailers and create presentation materials
* Request, generate and prepare handouts and other enrollment materials
* Assist in coordination of enrollment meetings through enroller dispatch and enrollment kit requests
* Generation, review and mailing of amendments and other service documents.
* Effectively support the National Account Manager, Account Specialist/Account Consultant needs resulting from phone calls, e-mails, faxes, etc.
* Follow up on case status, booklet requests, and other requests for information
* Sort and distribute mail when they are out of the office
* Review e-mail when out of the office and handles requests as needed
* Provide standard administrative support (e.g., faxing, filing, coordination of printing requests, typing, travel arrangements and itineraries, expense reports, etc.)
* Prioritize and negotiate scheduling and timing for appointments
* Schedule meetings, secure room and room equipment, organize and/or develop meeting materials and pre-work
* Process broker of record change requests.
* Initiate marketing and form supply orders through the appropriate marketing resources
* Research billing/claims inquiries from clients/brokers, as appropriate
* Process at risk customers on the at risk reports
* Submit Terminations via Unum termination tracking system
* Support information gathering/reporting needs through appropriate technology to include company mainframe systems
* Provide support in maintaining broker/customer lists and updating information to support the book of business; tracking by sales and account manager on data base systems
* Provides a high level of timely and accurate customer service for Customers and their Brokers that could include, but is not limited to:
* General customer service support to internal and external partners
* Request claim trend analysis exhibits
* Handle inquiries regarding tax reporting information
* Respond to general inquiries from customer/brokers
* High School diploma required, associates or Bachelors degree preferred
* A minimum of two years experience in an administration role or equivalent education experience
* Strong understanding of Unum products, features and services provided
* Strong communication skills - verbal, written and listening
* High degree of professionalism and confidentiality
* Ability to work with varying levels of management
* Ability to manage multiple priorities, effectively troubleshoot and meet deadlines
* Strong organizational skills and highly attentive to details. Proven track record for accurate work.
* Excellent customer service skills and focus. Takes initiative and is highly responsive.
* Works well in an energized team environment.
* Strong PC skills and high level of knowledge of Microsoft products
* Previous experience in mainframe and database applications preferred
* Ability to travel, locally and on a limited basis, as needed.
* Meets the standards for this position, as defined in the Talent Management Framework.
