Overview:

The person in this position investigates, negotiates and concludes by settlement or denial small First Party or clear liability Third Party auto claims through telephone contact. They will also ensure claims are processed within company policies, procedures, and individual's prescribed authority with exceptional standards of performance. Exceptional customer service and ease of doing business with Selective will be the primary focus of the position.

The shift for this position is 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.




Responsibilities:

Investigate claims through telephone contact with customers. Analyze information obtained through investigation in order to evaluate assigned claims to determine the extent of loss and liability. Appropriately manage car inspection/estimating process.

Aggressively manage car rental expenses.

Verify/analyze coverage and determines course of action.

Assign claims to appropriate CMS when outside scope of Claims Service Center.

Establish reserves and input claim on mobile claims system while speaking to customer.

Complete timely transfers to total loss unit when appropriate.

Document claims files and maintain control of work through documentation and diary system.

Update MCS on a continual basis to accurately reflect status of each assigned file.

Review and approve expenses incurred to investigate, process, and handle a claim.

Prepare check requisitions for all loss and expense payments.

Properly conclude claim in a timely, efficient manner with emphasis on excellent customer service.


Qualifications:

Required
High School Degree
Must obtain adjuster’s license within 90 days of start date then obtain appropriate non resident adjuster’s license in jurisdictions when required.

Preferred
Bachelors Degree
1+ yrs Auto Claims Experience
1+ yrs Property Claims Experience
