Job description: We are seeking an experienced individual to join the specialized team of Special Risk analysts and consultants in our Toronto office. The responsibilities will include providing special risk and accident insurance sales and service advice to a broad range of corporate clients and individuals to assist in the development of competitive, forward thinking and integrated insurance offerings to domestic and global clients. Principal duties include: * Assist clients in identifying employee risk exposures, gather data, develop plan designs, conduct insurance market surveys, recommend solutions and assist with implementation and ensure client satisfaction * Manage multiple annual client renewals, resolve day to day service issues and work as part of the special risk team on compliance issues * Develop client relationships and be viewed by clients as the key service person on the Mercer team * Provide intellectual capital to other Mercer offices across Canada with respect to special risk insurance products, and pricing * University or college degree or the equivalent in experience * 5 years experience ideally within the special risk insurance market or in the employee benefits insurance industry, in customer service, account management or underwriting * A sound understanding of or experience working with group underwriting principles and financial underwriting techniques * Excellent interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communication skills and experience working directly with clients * Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with excellent organizational and project management skills * Detail oriented with superior communication, listening, and analytical skills and attention to detail * Ability to work independently and on a team * Holds valid Ontario Life License or working towards same
