Department: Claims Division: Corporate Location: Red Bank, NJ or Woodland Hills, CA
Requirements: Candidate must have the ability to analyze complex coverage issues and evaluate exposures under occurrence and claims made policies. Duties and Responsibilities will include: * Evaluating, investigating, and negotiating complex construction defect claims * Verifying and analyzing coverage and preparing correspondence * Working with defense counsel, coverage counsel, engineers, and various consultants * Attending mediations and trials * Preparing loss reports and participating in loss presentations to underwriting and senior management * Pursuing risk transfer and working with other carriers
Requirements: * Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience and a minimum of 10 years experience handling commercial liability claims. * CPCU or other insurance industry related courses preferred * Ideal candidates should possess 7 years experience handling construction claims specializing in general contractors, developers, or various artisan and trade contractors. * Experience evaluating coverage and preparing correspondence * A proven track record of successful negotiation and litigation management * Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) are essential. * Basic skills in MS Word. * Ability to travel * Knowledge of Construction Industry
