Sr. Claims Examiner Location Pleasanton CA Department Claims Description
ICW is seeking a Sr. Claims Examiner for the San Diego Claims Department. The purpose of this position is to administer benefits to injured workers in accordance with statutory and case law as well as pertinent regulations, to reserve, manage, and bring workers' compensation claims to an equitable conclusion within the company standards and best practices guidelines. Important responsibilities will be to maintain effective communications with other departments within the company and to maintain a good working relationship with the insured and agents. This person will handle more complex cases, a higher caseload and to work more independently than a claims examiner and provide training and mentoring of claim examiners as needed.
Claim examiner must oversee the work given to the designated claim assistant to ensure timely responses are made and that the work is accurate. If training is necessary in any area, the examiner should provide it or if unable to provide the training, he or she should bring the issue to the attention of the supervisor.
The right candidate will have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED). An experienced examiner requires a minimum of two to four years of work-related skill and knowledge.
