Overview:
Provides excellent customer service in the handling of complex first and third party bodily injury and property damage claims with exposures levels up to $50,000.
Responsibilities:
* Understands concepts of coverage, policy interpretation, exposure recognition and liability determination to analyze and move claims towards resolution. * Uses Esurance systems to properly document files to include all key activities, contacts made, statements taken, including a full outline covering all aspects of the claim and what is needed for resolution * Sends correspondences related to claim and department of insurance regulations * Establishes reserves based on evaluation of claim and determines if limits will be sufficient for exposures to policy * Identifies and refers files to special investigation unit * Analyzes facts of loss, injury, and possible exposure potential greater than $50,000 prior to review with management for triage * Acknowledges time-limit demands, documents and contacts attorneys * Reviews and processes medical payment claims * Determines if treatment is reasonable for the type of diagnosis, impact, and characteristics of the injured party * Reviews, evaluates and negotiates to settlement bodily injury claims up to $50,000 * Utilizes COA and LA as a tool to review and evaluate claims when appropriate * Refers claims through the defense referral process * Identifies referrals, completes proper summaries and forwards files to subrogation for collection
Qualifications:
* Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, able to work well under deadlines in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently. * Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with both internal and external customers. * Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and within a collaborative team oriented environment using sound judgment in decision-making. * Excellent communication skills both oral and written. * Strong analytical, problem solving skills, and excellent customer service negotiation skills. * Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and claims related software programs. * Demonstrated knowledge of medical treatments and understanding of low impact injury claims * Demonstrated knowledge with handling claims involving issues of coverage, drop back and multiple policy coverage * Demonstrated knowledge in receiving and negotiating liens with healthcare providers and worker’s compensation carriers for first and third party injury claims * Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, a related field, and/or equivalent education required. * Four years or more auto and injury claims handling experience required. ~CB~
